Wednesday Noon

Greetings!

Well, I think tiredness is setting in! I don't have anything from the kids today. They will have to do some heavy writing tonight!

Quite a heavy storm blew through the Mobile Bay area last night and this morning. Standing on the porch at Baytreat only magnified the sound of the thunder. It was heavy duty!

Tonight we are hosting a group of folks from L'Arche for dinner and worship. It will be a good chance for us to share some of the hospitality that we have received. Last night, we ate dinner at the Waterfront Rescue Mission. Nathan, Conner S., and I met a couple of really interesting guys, Ronnie and Jimmy. Ronnie used to be a truck driver -- he's never been to Iowa, so we told him all about Iowa! Jimmy has been here for two weeks -- his job did not materialize and now he is homeless and hates it! We promised to pray for him, and said that the folks in Iowa would be praying, too!

I don't want to share too much more, because that's the kids part of the deal.

Tonight at the worship, we will be doing communion and using a little known provision in the Book of Order regarding the communion servers. Chris and I will report it to the Session. Our two confirmed youth, Katie and Holly will be the communion servers. It will be special!

Well, enough for now. Picture to follow!
